First, in this Presidential Election Year, we want everyone to know how to become a delegate to the County, State and National Democratic conventions – and why you should care! Richard Dorman from USC College Dems will explain the process and timeline – which begins in March. If you want to be a delegate to the RCDP Convention, the SCDP Convention and the Democratic National Convention, you need to know this!

Last (but not least), as our meeting takes place one week before the First In The South Democratic Presidential Primary, we’ve invited surrogates from the presidential campaigns to speak briefly!!

RCDP 2020 Convention @ Columbia College - Godbold Gym
Mar 21 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
The convention is where we elect county party leadership (chair, vice-chairs, etc.). It is also where we elect delegates to the SCDP convention in May. Delegates are people who are allowed to vote.
The RCDP Convention is open to any Democrat. To vote at the RCDP convention (i.e. to be a delegate to the county convention), you need to attend your precinct meeting on March 14th, 10am. This precinct meeting is called Precinct Reorganization.
Precinct Reorganization will occur at 12 cluster meeting locations throughout the county. Details on these locations are being formulated now.
